Yesterday I noticed an advert of an automotive company that offered a maximum gas price when buying a new car. A cutting edge invention, I thought. If that won't help people to drive through the crisis what would help them?
But I think we should not forget about the overall blessings of a rising fuel-price, and perhaps about a rising food price; I'm not sure whether the sugar-price is increasing but if it would it can't do too much harm. Let's recheck our diet and get some sugar out of it. It would increase the health of any nation.
A similar story serves for the increase in the oil-price. Now people still blame "a stupid war," or perhaps a possible speculation that keeps the price up, but instead people should be glad: a rising oil price is the only way we will get activated to do something about global warming, and nature in general.
Economics is the only way to fuel a change, otherwise changes last for ever and nothing really happens.
Rising oil makes you rethink to get the car or any other vehicle for doing some shopping: walk if you can and you will improve your health in the mean time ...
Linked to the oil-rise, high electricity bills are an opportunity to change you living habits in a more sensible way
On an industrial level, high oil prices will make other energy categories worth while investigating.
Working at home: every trip to the office costs an awful lot and why should you. It would solve the traffic jams at the same time.
Without any effort this list can be extended with many more items. If you really think about it, the rising oil price is a blessing.
